Star Trek 2 Klingons Revealed At The MTV Movie Awards

Last night's MTV Movie Awards delivered looks at two of the most anticipated movies yet to come out in 2012. First came the trailer premiere for The Perks of Being A Wallflower, starring Logan Lerman and Emma Watson, and then we were treated to an extended look at Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises. But that's not all that made it into the show last night as apparently the show delivered one of the first looks we've gotten at J.J. Abrams' Star Trek sequel.

During one of last night's skits, featuring Joel McHale talking about the archery phenomenon in Hollywood this year, J.J. Abrams appeared and brought a little friend with him as TrekMovie spotted what looked like a Klingon on a monitor behind Abrams. Check out the screenshot that they captured below.

But that, of course, isn't enough evidence to prove that Klingons are in the Star Trek sequel, as fans know that the race was also featured in a deleted scene from Abrams' first adventure on the Enterprise (and it does look like the same design). That said, it does appear to be the real deal. HitFix reached out to reps for the film and while they were "reluctant to go on the record," they did say that the appearance of the Klingon on the monitor was not an accident.

So what do you think of this news? Are you glad Klingons will be in the next Star Trek movie? Let us know in the comments below.
